Hosting for Coventry businesses
Coventry is the historic heart of the British motor industry. Names such as Daimler, Triumph, Humber and Jaguar built cars here, and Jaguar Land Rover still has its headquarters and engineering centre at Whitley. London's black cabs are now made at Ansty on the edge of the city by LEVC, and the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre is based in Coventry, linking the city to electric vehicle development.
Coventry University and the University of Warwick, whose main campus is on the city's southern edge, together make the city a significant centre for engineering research and student life. Coventry rebuilt after heavy bombing in 1940, and the new cathedral beside the ruins of the old one remains a major landmark. The city was UK City of Culture in 2021.
