Hosting for Hull businesses
Kingston upon Hull has always looked to the sea. It was one of Britain's great fishing ports, and its docks still handle freight and ferry traffic to Rotterdam. In recent years the Humber has become a centre for offshore wind: Siemens Gamesa makes turbine blades at Alexandra Dock, and a chain of engineering and marine firms has grown around the industry.
Hull also has big names in health and hygiene products. Reckitt has a major site in the city, and Smith & Nephew was founded here. The University of Hull and Hull's year as UK City of Culture in 2017 boosted the city's arts and tourism profile, especially around the Old Town and the marina.
Hull has its own telecoms history too, with its distinctive cream phone boxes. Whatever connection you use, the hosting behind your website needs to be reliable. dijitul looks after it remotely: migration, updates, SSL and daily backups, with a UK phone number for support.
