Hosting for Nottingham businesses
Nottingham's prosperity was built on lace. The Lace Market, with its Victorian warehouses, was the centre of a trade that sold Nottingham lace around the world, and Hockley and the Lace Market now form the city's Creative Quarter, full of design studios, independent shops, bars and small tech firms. The city also has a long list of big names: Boots has its head office and main site in Beeston, Raleigh made bicycles here for a century, and Experian and Capital One both run large UK operations in the city.
Two universities, the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University, bring tens of thousands of students and a steady flow of graduate startups in software and life sciences, many of the latter based at BioCity. Tourism around the castle and the Robin Hood story, plus a busy city-centre hospitality scene, add bars, restaurants and venues to the mix.
That makes Nottingham a city of small firms that compete online: agencies, consultancies, salons, restaurants and student-facing businesses that can't afford a site going down in Freshers' week. dijitul is just up the A60 in Mansfield, so you get a Nottinghamshire hosting company that looks after the server, backups and SSL while you run the business.
