Hosting for Stoke-on-Trent businesses
Stoke-on-Trent is the Potteries, a federation of six towns that became the centre of British ceramics. Wedgwood, Spode, Royal Doulton and hundreds of other makers worked here, and the industry continues today through firms such as Emma Bridgewater, Portmeirion and Wedgwood at Barlaston, alongside many small studios and factory shops. Pottery tourism, including factory tours and outlet shops, brings visitors to the city.
Stoke also has some large modern employers. Bet365 was founded in the city and has its headquarters here, and Michelin has a long-established tyre plant. Staffordshire University is in the city, with Keele University just to the west, and the city's position on the M6 and A50 supports distribution businesses.
Ceramics makers increasingly sell direct to customers online, which makes a working shop and secure checkout essential. dijitul provides managed hosting for those shops and for every other kind of local firm, with backups and SSL included.
